As of Della's death on May 27, 1992, she was still married to John Andrew Shorter. They had to have married after that date, but before Sep, 1992, because John Andrew Shorter died Sep. 4, 1992. Della was Frances' sister, and John Andrew Shorter was Frances' brother-in-law. Even so, the obituary of Gilbert Lee Jarrell, Frances' husband, who died Jul. 13, 1998, state's that he's survived by his wife Frances, and should have been named as ex-wife. It also names Oscar Lee Shorter as his son, but should be a step-son.
